1) are the hard lumps in your honey =mastic?
2) Can the hard lumps/ resin in your honey be consumed?

| ||The Best Before date is printed on the box of the honey... which I understand is different from expiry date. i asked cos i read that PURE/ RAW honey does not expire...they can be kept indefinitely...so I am wondering why your honey will expired by Dec-2017? Is there some other substance in them or is it pure honey? Thank you. |
[Re] Best Before vs Expiry Date
For practical purposes, a shelf life of two years is often stated

| ||I found round hard ball like plastic substance in the honey which is not dissolvable. i understand that the hard lumps are actually the MASTIC...which has great health properties? Can they be consumed? Chew on it or swallow whole? Please advise as my friends whom I gave these to thought something was not right with the honey. Thanks! |
[Re] Hard Lumps in Honey
Mastic consist of volatile and aromatic ingredients that make up the essential oil (mastic). The exact composition
of Chios mastic is not yet fully known. What we know is that mastic is rich in:
1. Terpenes (especially ursolic and oleanolic acid). These substances are responsible for antimicrobial, antiviral
antitumor, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiulcer and antihyperlipidemic activity of mastic.
2. Polyphenols, known potent antioxidant compounds that protect cells and tissues of the body from free radicals,
which are the cause illnesses such as heart disease, and aging skin.
